He was SO excited this morning to get dressed in his uniform. We took pics and headed to his first day. John, Tyler, Ethan, and Mommy waited outside the classroom. They enter from the playground through the outside doors that lead directly into the classroom. Ethan was worried about where he should put his backpack but the teacher quickly gave them their instructions. He nodded the whole time-our sweet boy! He already takes school seriously and aims to follow directions. Love him!
He calmly settled into his seat and we gave him hugs and kisses before all the parents were dismissed. He smiled and waved good bye. Once we left, I had to shed a few tears. Tears of pride. John said we are saying “good-bye” to one part of his childhood, and “Hello” to a whole new one. This is true. I am so proud of Ethan. He’s grown into a confident and caring little man (who is the tallest in his class, by the way!).
He excitedly watched me pack his lunch-which included a little teenage mutant ninja turtle “love you” note-and his afternoon snack. As I type this they are probably having snack time. Cannot wait to hear how his day went!
This boy is ready to learn and grow. I can’t believe he’s in Kindergarten! He will rock it!
